First Lutheran Church is a congregation of people who worship, play, study and serve together in the Rio Grande Valley. We are a lively, growing community, living in the confidence of God's grace. We hope you will join us as we do God's work in Jesus' name. Everyone is welcome.

FLC Edinburg is a congregation of the Southwestern Texas Synod of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America. We invite you to join us for worship, study and fellowship whether you are in the area on a short visit, or as a long time member of the Lutheran Church. If you are looking for a church to call home, we invite you to join us.

Our Church Life

Learning, serving and growing in faith never stops. We have Sunday School for all ages as well as Bible Studies and guest speakers. We support a Food Pantry ministry, and in the summer we have Vacation Bible School.

We celebrate our Christian life and worship together throughout the year with music. We have a talented choir,  wonderful orchestra, gifted organist, and soloist who regularly share their gifts. Our talented choir, led by Dr. Vivian Munn, enriches each service. Christmas and Easter are made even more inspiring with their rich gift of music.

We also strengthen and nurture each other. We do this is in many ways, including Fellowship potlucks, exploring the Valley in groups like our adult fellowship NOAH (Not Over Any Hill), and with Sunday morning refreshments and conversation after church. We pray for one another on Sunday and in our fellowship study groups.

Prayer Shawl Ministry

Our care and love of knitting and crocheting have been combined into a prayerful ministry that reaches out to those in need of comfort and solace. Many blessings are knitted into every shawl. When the shawl is completed, it is formally blessed by our pastor and our congregation. During the past few years, numerous prayer shawls have been shared with our friends and family. If you can knit or crochet, your talents would be helpful and appreciated in this ministry.
