Change to Newsletter Introduction

Someone suggested the start of the weekly newsletter be changed each week to make the material appear fresh.

Starting this week, the newsletter will start with a description of the Bible readings for the next Sunday and a description of the theme for the day. This material will come mostly from the insert for the coming Sunday.

Some congregations incorporate this material as the Announcing of the Day. First Lutheran does not have Announcing the Day in worship so the material some use at worship will instead be part of the newsletter.

Church Signs with Messages

Church signs with message boards like the one at First Lutheran Church in Edinburg can create some interesting situations. Sometimes the sign does not communicate what is intended. Following 9/11 at
