ELCA Promotes Two Bills in the Senate

Two bills passed by the House of Representatives are now before the Senate. ELCA members are encouraged to call their Senators to solicit their favorable votes.

The American Dream and Promise Act (H.R. 6) would provide a pathway to citizenship for qualifying Dreamers and Temporary Protected Status (TPS) holders and Deferred Enforced Departure (DED) recipients.

The Equality Act (H.R. 5) would add "sexual orientation" and "gender identity" to the classes protected against discrimination in the Civil Rights Act of 1964.
