ELCA Social Statement on Corporal Punishment?

A dean at Wartburg Seminary in Dubuque has been circulating a resolution to synod assemblies calling on the denomination to create a social statement on the use of corporal punishment in the public schools.

Do you think the ELCA should study this issue? Would you want First Lutheran to study the proposal before it would be adopted?

The ELCA is now working on a statement on justice for women.
