Interviewed by a Journalist
I was interviewed yesterday by a writer in San Antonio who asked me about my work at First and with immigrants. I am not sure where or when anything will be published.
I said being a prophet works two ways as I also have to hold church officials accountable, not just public officials. The church has to repent of its own sins and cannot simply point fingers at others.
I also said that during the current leadership crisis in Washington, much of what is true is best handled by saying little about it. I discovered that at the recent synod assembly when I deleted a comment about clergy in my report, not because it was false, but because saying it would not move us forward.
Are there things in your life best left unsaid?
