Letter to Clergymen

This week I received a generic form letter to local clergy which addressed us as clergymen. The letter was an invitation to an event being held by the Edinburg CISD later this month.

I wonder if local officials are aware of the number of female clergy now serving a variety of denominations across the country. My wife, daughter, bishop, and presiding bishop are female clergy who are excluded by letters like this one.

I plan to attend the event and will try to tell someone clergywomen do exist and deserve equal treatment. Sexism remains a major issue in our country. Men need to speak up.
