Lutheran Student Pastor Arrested

Lutherans have been in the religious news today as a student pastor in Wisconsin was arrested by ICE while in her pajamas. The student at the Lutheran School of Theology at Chicago is from Colombia. I am forwarding an email tomorrow from Faithful America, affiliated with the National Council of Churches, calling on action from the religious community of the United States.

I have been in conversation with Bishop Briner and a former ELCA official about the situation in Wisconsin. The Bishop of Milwaukee was at a vigil last night.

The student pastor has not caused trouble and there was no indication she was in danger of being arrested.
