Ready for Immigration Retreat

I have read the preliminary report of the consultants leading the retreat later this week and am anticipating a productive time with about 30 people active on this issue. This is one of the hot issues of our time and much of what is in the report I have been discussing in Sunday school over the last few months. I read little that was surprising.


The issues of racism. sexism, and xenophobia continue to be central to the issue of immigration but I do not know of a major organized effort in our synod to address these other issues. I should learn a lot at the retreat. I think I am the only participant from the Rio Grande Valley.
