The After-Pentecost Season

I started at First Lutheran in Advent and have been here through the festival half of the church year. We are now starting the after Pentecost season when the liturgical color is usually green.

Sermons also change somewhat during this time of year. Instead of focusing more on the grace of God as we do during the festivals of the church, during the green season sermons tend to emphasize more our response in faith.

Special local emphases tend to happen more in the after Pentecost season and more saints days are observed. Catholics call this time of year ordinary time.
