The Greatest Generation and D-Day

I am again hearing about the GI Generation and how successful it was, especially the men. What is often not said is that this was the last generation of men who enjoyed almost totally uncontested white male privilege in the United States. Later generations have of men had more competition from women, minorities, immigrants and others who were not as powerful during the middle of the last century. Being the greatest depends upon one's place in life.
