The Possibility of War in Iran

So far I have not seen any official statements from the ELCA about the growing crisis.

When war was a threat in 2003 in Iraq, Presiding Bishop Mark Hanson made a strong statement opposing an invasion of Iraq. A couple years later when he met with pastors in Texas, he expressed concern his views were not discussed in many congregations here. If the ELCA makes a statement on this current situation, I will discuss it at Sunday school the next Sunday.

As I remember, President Trump's decision to withdraw from the Iran Nuclear Agreement was opposed by several mainline Protestant church bodies. If the churches make a stand on the current crisis, I expect that decision by the president will be part of the conversation.
