The Role of a Prophet

As chair of this synod's immigration task force, I feel like I am as much a prophet these days as a pastor. Historically, pastors are loved and prophets are scorned.


As I try to speak truth to the powers of our day, I am also compelled to speak truth to the church leaders of our day, a task which is also not easy.


I have had the same spiritual director in San Antonio for over 20 years and he is now in his 90s and a big help to me. If you would like to discuss spiritual direction with me, please let me know.
