Vacation Bible School Materials

Updated: Jun 13, 2019

Concordia Publishing House materials are being used in this year's Vacation Bible School. This is the first exposure I have had to products of the Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod in the last 20 years or so. Relationships between the two churches deteriorated when the ALC and LCA voted to ordain women and virtually ceased on all levels when the ELCA voted to ordain gays and lesbians.

While some theological differences are visible, both churches are facing similar challenges in reaching out to younger generations. Both churches embrace contemporary music with youth but expect their musical preferences to change by the time they reach adulthood. I know I like the same music I did as a youth. I wonder if younger generations will be any different.
